ProcessGuard : Shows detailed information of Processess Running in Background

ProcessGuard is a powerful new type of security system that secures Windows at the lowest (kernel) level, allowing it to provide the maximum possible security. An intuitive interface makes the program very easy to use, and a comprehensive help file explains everything in full detail for those wanting to know more. ProcessGuard gives you full control over which programs are allowed to run and prevents even the stealthiest rootkit Trojan horses from being able to install malicious drivers. Virtually all known code/process-related attacks can be prevented, including keyloggers, firewall leak tests, process termination, code and DLL injection, thread hijacking, and Windows File Protection attacks.

This utility provides competent PC protection, albeit in a different way than antivirus or anti-adware tools do. Rather than scanning your PC to ferret out specific offenders, ProcessGuard blocks all activities typical of malware and Trojan horses at a deep level. The program's interface is handy and requires minimal user configuration. However, you will need to run the utility in learning mode for several hours so ProcessGuard can examine your computer and determine which processes are safe.

This application can prevent nefarious programs from reading, modifying, or stopping any application in the memory; disable access to physical memory; and stop unauthorized logging of drivers and services. It also provides additional protection by asking your permission every time a new application attempts to install. Although ProcessGuard demonstrated solid performance in our tests, we can't vouch for some of its more advanced features, which are disabled in this version. Still, the program makes a nice addition to your arsenal of PC-protection programs.

With the help of this webpage, you can convert your normal texts into the pirate texts and either talk in the same way or post it on your profile of Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, etc.

A Pirate Speak translator helps to translate your text in the pirate language and in case you didn’t like the translated text you can again hit the Translate button to generate a new line.

Diagram.ly : A Website To Create Diagrams & Charts

If you are looking for a fast and effective way to create diagrams and have them displayed on your site or blog, then this is a new application that can certainly pass the test. Named Diagram.ly, it runs entirely on the browser and it comes with a very intuitive interface that can be used to create BPM diagrams, UML diagrams, network diagrams, database schema diagrams, flowcharts. Virtually every kind of diagram or chart can already be created through this site.

A diagram creation tool Diagram.ly is offered by a UK based company JGraph, which develops and supports graph visualization software and web services. A drag and drop interface is provided by Diagram.ly to make diagrams by means of clip art and pre-drawn shapes. All diagrams can be saved to your computer in 4 formats – jpg, xml, png, or svg.

Diagram.ly is a very helpful tool for students who want to make flowcharts of a procedure or concept. Students can even create mindmaps that use images rather than only words and lines. For business purpose, you can also construct professional looking diagrams like sitemaps, organization charts, flowcharts, business processes, wireframes, etc.

How it works?
From the shapes panel, drag and drop shapes onto the canvas to begin drawing. Select shapes from different categories – general shapes (rectangle, triangles, rhombus, lines), BPMN, ClipArt, Computers (monitor, hard drive), Finance, Networking, Telecommunication or People (doctor, businessman). Now drag and drop the arrow to the node you desire to connect. Hit on ‘open document’ symbol; choose the file with your file browser. After selecting the file, press on the ‘open’ button. Then to store your files to your computer, hit ‘save’ or ‘save as’. Now prefer the format you want. You can even attach the shapes or add text to them by double clicking. One of the great features of it is that you can also save partially completed projects to a local desktop then upload and edit later.

TeamSpeak : A New Voice Communication Software.

TeamSpeak is software for quality voice communication via the Internet. It doesn’t require third party servers to connect to like Skype, Windows Live Messenger and Google Talk etc. It has its own server which can be installed by anyone and then all other friends can connect to that server in order to chat with each other enjoying almost all the features of the popular VOIP clients.

TeamSpeak offers a client-server architecture where client and server software is clearly separated. This means the server product runs as a dedicated server, rather than peer-to-peer. The TeamSpeak server software is literally capable of handling thousands of simultaneous clients or users, which results in an Internet-based teleconferencing solution that works for a repertory of different applications such as an alternative to conference calls, cutting long distance telephone costs, or just as a method of personal communication with friends and family.

The software is free of charge to non-profit entities.

PDF to JPG Online Conversion

This is a good website to manage PDF files that allows converting a PDF files to JPG format. You will also have the opportunity to download the pictures as a zip file. Just submit your PDF, the website will convert it to JPG!

Just upload your PDF file and click convert to get image files. Sometimes as JPG images can take some time if the PDF file is large. In this case there is the option of leaving a email alert which sends an email when the conversion is complete.

Unfortunately the only drawback is that it can only manage pdf files which upto the size of 10 MB. This usually should not be a problem in most cases but PDFs with images usually are quite large-sized files.

Evolution of Email : As Explained By Microsoft.

Email, as a means of electronically sending messages between two people, is said to have began at MIT in the 1960s. The system was crude, and basically amounted to different users leaving notes for each other stored on the same shared computer. This was a precursor to today’s method of sending an email across a network, which, incidentally, was created not too much later.

The First Network Email

The backbone of our current email system began with ARPANET, near the end of 1971, by Ray Tomlinson, an ARPANET contractor working for Bolk Beranek and Newman. ARPANET was the network created by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) of the United States Department of Defense during the Cold War. Tomlinson’s goal was to take his existing basic messaging system, SNGMSG, and take it to the next logical evolution, indicating for a given message which user was at which of the network’s computers.

The History and Evolution of Email

Below given a link in an infographic by Microsoft, which shows how Email has evolved over the last few decades.

How To Track And Find The Stolen Camera?

Is your camera lost or missing? Has your camera been stolen? If so, stolencamerafinder can help you find out where it is now.

This website can help to locate a missing camera by searching for photos on the web that have been taken by that camera.

There are currently over 1 million camera sightings in the website's database and counting...

Every photo you take with your digital camera contains hidden information about both the image and the camera such as the make, model and date. This information, called exif data, can also include a unique serial number which identifies your camera.

stolencamerafinder crawls the internet searching for photos, collecting the serial numbers of the cameras that took them.

When you use the drag & drop feature, stolencamerafinder reads the unique serial number from the exif data of your photo and uses it to match against serial numbers it has stored.

In a company blog, Director of Microsoft Office Managed, Quin Nikel said the software giant plans to offer a final version of Office 2010 SP1 by the end of 2011. Citing Microsoft’s recent Windows 7 SP1 announcement, Nikel said “some of you may be wondering when the Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 SP1 will be available for download. Microsoft typically releases a service pack 12 to 18 months after a product is launched and you can expect that same timeframe for Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010.”

Microsoft’s upcoming Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 SP1 will consist of minor updates, including all previously released public updates according to the software maker. “For customers that stay current, there’s no need to wait for SP1 to deploy. You are already enjoying the advantages of SP1 and can deploy now knowing that you will benefit from all the innovations included in Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010″ said Niel.

The changes can be made in following aspects:
  • Fixes an issue in Outlook where “Snooze Time” would not reset between appointments.
  • The default behavior for PowerPoint “Use Presenter View” option changed to display the slide show on the secondary monitor.
  • Integrated community content in the Access Application Part Gallery.
  • Better alignment between Project Server and SharePoint Server browser support.
  • Improved backup and restore functionality for SharePoint Server.
  • The Word Web Application extends printing support to “Edit Mode.”
  • Project Professional now synchronizes scheduled tasks with SharePoint task lists.
  • Internet Explorer 9 to provide “Native” support for Office Web Applications and SharePoint.
  • Office Web Applications support for Chrome.
  • Inserting Charts into Excel Workbooks using Excel Web Application.
  • Support for searching PPSX files in Search Server.
  • Fixes scaling issues and arrowhead rendering errors in Visio with SVG export.
  • Proofing Tools improve spelling suggestions in Canadian English, French, Swedish and European Portuguese.
  • Outlook Web Application Attachment Preview (with Exchange Online only).

Haozip : A Powerful Free Archiving Manager and Compression Software

HaoZip is a powerful Archive Manager, a free compression software which is a relatively new program that at least match the functionality of those programs like Winzip and Winrar, or provide users with a unique feature that the other compression programs do not offer to stand a chance.

HaoZip supports decompressing 49 formats including .ZIP .7Z .RAR and so on, built .ZIP .7Z and .TAR compressed files directly, without plug-in support, to ensure the versatility!

System Requirements
Haozip supports multiple languages, but there is only one setup file for all the languages. The supported languages include Chinese and English. StartUpLite : A Tool To Remove Disabled Programs From Windows StartUp

No one likes waiting for their computer to start - it’s like watching paint dry.

StartUpLite is a lightweight software that can disable or remove all known unnecessary startup entries from your system and thus quicken the startup procedure of your computer. StartUpLite provides a safe, easy, and efficient way to eliminate unnecessary applications that start when you turn on your computer. By disabling or removing unnecessary entries, StartUpLite can dramatically shorten your startup time with just a few clicks of the mouse. Stop waiting and start computing.

Just run it and StartUpLite lists start-up programs it deems unnecessary. A short description is given for each item. Select programs also rate a short explanation describing how disabling the app would affect the system. Each listed program has three check box options to Disable, Remove, or perform No Action. Simply click to choose for each and press a single button to continue. The program removes or disables checked entries and recommends a system reboot.

StartUpLite doesn't offer a method to restore disabled programs, but presents a link to open Msconfig to perform the function. Less-experienced users should find this app helpful in uncovering unneeded start-up programs.

This freebie is a great tool for speeding up system starts and eliminating unnecessary system overhead.

How To View All Of Your Likes On The Facebook???

Liking stuff on Facebook is one of the easiest ways of expressing your approval for these causes or concepts that truly strike a chord with you. You can Like any page, product or website which has a Like button on it. It will be shared among your friends instantly letting them know that you like a specific page or product. Do you want to get 1000's of Real Likes For Your FB Pages??

That is where a service such as LikeJournal comes in. It is a true organizer for Facebook likes. LikeJournal is a service which can organize all your likes as social bookmarks so that you can search and browse all the Facebook Likes easily. Using LikeJournal is very easy. You don’t have to signup for the service, just login with your Facebook Account and start using the service. By granting the application access to your Facebook account, it will retrieve all these things that you have liked and then present them to you in an ordered fashion. You will be able to see all that you have liked in the past, and (this is actually very interesting) you will even be able to share what you have liked with your friends, in the same way one would actually share a link.

How it works?
  • When you log into LikeJournal, your Likes from Facebook are pulled in and indexed so you can browse and search them through the extension or LikeJournal website.

  • When you click a Like Button while browsing, LikeJournal tracks that for you too!

  • Find yourself on a website without a Like Button? Click the LikeJournal toolbar button to get a Like button for any website you're on!

Attribute Changer : A tool That Changes The Files And Folders Attributes

As the name suggests, Attribute Changer allows you to change all kind of file and folder attributes like date, time and even NTFS compression. Its seamless integration into Windows makes it a good choice for users who frequently need to make these types of changes.

Attribute Changer acts as a Windows shell extension and simplifies changing file and folder attributes by adding itself to the context menus for drives, folders and files. Filters and exceptions can be used to fine tune the update process.

Once installed, the program is accessed by right-clicking on the file or folder in question. From there, the program opens, with its functions organized into tabs for folder properties, file properties, reporting, and settings. The program allows users to change the file type (hidden, compressed, read-only, and so on) and adjust date and time stamps. Although the built-in Help file does an adequate job of explaining the program's features, it's definitely not geared toward novices; the program and Help file both assume that users will have some experience with changing attributes and will know the hows and whys of doing so. For example, the Help file warns users "Be careful in changing the System and Hidden attributes. They are used by the Windows operating system to flag special folders." If you don't already know what you're doing, Attribute Changer isn't going to explain it for you. But if you are used to working with attributes, Attribute Changer is an accessible, easy way to quickly make the desired changes.

Attribute Changer is free to try, but there was no indication of whether there are trial limitations. The program installs and uninstall without issues. We recommend this program to intermediate and advanced users.

Google's Gmail PC-to-Phone Call Service

The Google Voice project has gone a long way from just simple voice call recording. Skype geeks must be trembling already because the Gmail Voice Call feature, Gmail’s PC-to-Phone calling, is doing well. Google’s Gmail new feature that lets you do voice calls to landline and mobile numbers right from your e-mail account is pure genius. No need to download and install a separate application like you do with Skype and other VOIP services. Gmail is not yet as popular as Hotmail or Yahoo Mail but with the introduction of this PC-to-Phone calling feature, it might just double its subscribers within the year.Skype should feel very threatened, while it enjoys more than 500 millions users now.

The new PC-to-phone feature is integrated into the chat list on the Gmail page. Making a call is actually very similar to starting a regular chat or video sessions. Once a user has clicked on the “Call phone” button on the top of the friends list, a telephone key pad appears—after that, a user can dial the number (by clicking on the numbers with a mouse, copying or typing a phone number) and start a conversation.

And what about the prices? Calls to the USA and Canada will be free, and to make a call to some other country, users are asked to pay strikingly little money—for instance, a voice conversation with a friend in Australia, France, Germany or the UK and more will cost only $0.02 per minute (the full list of rates can be found here).
