Syncing, Importing, and Organizing your Android Phone Contacts with Google Account

We are very much close friend with our GOOGLE isn't so? Then why not try to use more of it services along with our next best buddy ANDROID phones. Have you any idea that we can sync, import and organize all our android phone contacts with the Google account? 

You can manage your Google contacts from within your Google account. This will save you from trying around on your mobile phone's keyboard to try to arrange, categorize, create, edit, and delete those contacts.

If you want the non-Google contacts that are already on your Android phone to be migrated to Google contacts, there is no way to do this directly on the phone; instead, you have to do an export/import. You have to export the contacts to a CSV file to your SD card and then import that file into Google.

The contacts on any Android phone can be created in three groups – SIM contact, Phone Contact and Google Account contact. If the new contacts are created in either of Phone or SIM, that cannot be synchronized with the Google account. For the contacts to be synced with the Google account, we need to create the contacts to save to Google account associated with the phone.

Steps:

(1) From the home screen, tap Contacts.

Note: If the shortcut is no longer on the home screen, tap Apps and tap Contacts.

(2) Tap the Menu key.

(3) Tap Import/Export.

 (4) Tap Export to SD Card

(5) Select OK to confirm

The contacts are now exported to a vCard (i.e. vcf) file in the SD card. 

Once this is done, import the same vcf file back, but import should be done under your Google account.

(6) Open Contacts > Menu > Import / Export > Import from SD Card > Choose your Google account (with gmail.com)

Note: When importing contacts, if prompted, tap to select the desired account the contacts are to be imported into. Now, this has created all the contacts in your Google account on your phone, next step is to sync the same on actual Google account online. Make sure you are connected to internet. 

(7) Go to Settings > Accounts and Sync > Manage accounts, click on your Google account (displayed with your gmail id) > Make sure Contacts is checked > Open Menu > Sync now.

THE REBOOT TRICK

This should work on all software versions of the 6110.

1. Go to the Calendar (Menu-8)
2. Make a note or reminder.
3. Enter some text into the edit box.
4. Hold "Clear" until the whole text is cleared, then press "Back".
5. Press "0". The main screen will now be showing but a space appears on the screen. (you can't see it)
6. Enter 4 digits (e.g. 1234).
7. Use the down arrow to move the cursor to the left side of the numbers and the space (Down arrow twice).
8. Now enter 6 digits and press the call button.

Wait for a few seconds, the screen should start to flash and reboots. It should also work on other menus like the "Profiles" menu.


EFR CALL QUALITY

To activate EFR (Enhanced Full Rate) Enter the code: *3370#
This improves call quality but decreases batterylife by about 5%
To deactivate it, Enter the code: #3370#


THE JAMES BOND TRICK

If you short-circuit theleft middle and right pins on the bottom of the phone with all connections touching each other, the Nokia software hangs! The profile "Headset" will be activated. Before you do this just activate the "Automatic Answer" in the headset profile and set the ringing volume to "Mute". Now you can use your phone for checking out what people are talking about in a room. Just place it under a table in a room and call it. The phone receives the call without ringing and you can listen to what people are saying.


NETWORK MONITOR

There is a hidden menu inside your Nokia phone. If you want to activate it, you'll have to re-program some chips inside of your phone.Check your software version. You can only continue if you have v4.33, v4.73 or v5.24. Take apart the phone. De-solder the EEPROM (ATMEL AT 24C64). Read out the data with an EEPROM programmer and save it to a file (Backup). If you have v.33 or v4.73, change the address "03B8" from "00" to "FF". If you have v5.24 then change the address "0378" from "00" to "FF". Write the new data to the EEPROM and solder it back to the phone,Power on your phone and you should have "Netmonitor" enabled.

CHECK SIM-LOCK

Note: If you bought your Nokia on UK Vodafone or UK Cellnet you do not need to check this because they both transmit on GSM900, and they don't lock the phones. However if you bought your phone on UK Orange or UK One2one your phone may be blocked. The reason is that they both transmitt on GSM1800. To make a call on GSM1800 you need what is known as a "Dual band" phone. A dual band phone is able to transmit on both GSM900 and GSM1800, so they lock the phones so you can't use it with any other network simcard. If you find that your phone is locked you can try different software to unlock it or you can ask your service provider who will gladly exchange the 10 digit code for about £35.

This is how to check the status of the 4 different locks. Aslo don't try entering the wrong number, because after 3 times it will block the phone for good.

The master code is a secret code. The code has 10 digits, To read out the sim-lock status you can enter every combination you want!

"Y" Shows the status of the network-lock. Here you can enter a number from "1" to "4". The "4" is for the sim-card lock.

Shutdown Computer with a Cell Phone

Using this method, a user can shutdown, restart, hibernate, etc. his or her computer, just by sending an email from his or her phone.

To do this, all you will need is Microsoft Outlook which should come with Microsoft Office, which most people have. This will need to be on the computer wish you wish to shutdown.

So, this is how you do this:

1. First, you need the batch files to perform the Shutdown, Hibernate etc. You can write them down yourselves

2. open your note pad

and write lik this...

and save it as shutdown.bat

3. Open up Microsoft Outlook. Make sure that you have already configured it for your email.Now we will need to make it so that Outlook checks your inbox about every minute (1 minute for testing time can be increased if a delayed shutdown is desired). You can do this by going to Tools: Options.

4. Then click the Mail Setup tab, and afterwards, the Send/Receive button.

5. Make sure that the Schedule an automatic send/receive every... box is checked, and set the number of minutes to 1. Now you may close all of these dialog boxes.

6. Now go to Tools: Rules and Alerts... Next click the options button in the upper right hand corner and press the Import Rules button.

7. Now select the shutdown.bat file ...which u have created ...

8. Now, when you send a message from your phone to your e-mail address with the subject shutdown or smsshutdown%%, your computer will shutdown.


Use any of the Isolated or dead E-mail address or any e-mail will shutdown your computer.

Make your mobile number as user does not exist!
