How to Send Large Files Via Short URLs ??

Documents hosting is a service currently provided by many online websites. While all those websites facilitate internet users by providing a valuable service, they have certain restrictions which cannot be overcome. For instance, a type of restriction commonly found is the file size i.e. you cannot upload a file beyond a certain file size.

Sayabit, pronounced "SAY A BIT", is a links based file storage service from Sayagle which not only shortens and redirects long URLs but also gives you the ability to upload images, documents and files for sharing via short personalized URLs.
To start storing your documents online, first sign up for an account on Sayabit.

This is done for free and the only information Sayabit requires is: your desired username and password, and an email address to send the confirmation email to.

You can see how effective the tool is. Adding your own reference at the end makes it a lot easier to remember the links. The URL ‘shortener’ also comes as a sidebar or bookmarklet:

You can click on the ‘Upload Files’ button, browse to the folder where the file is store, and select it. No matter how big, it’ll be uploaded by Sayabit! The file formats Sayabit supports are the ones usually used for documents: GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, DOC, DOCX, PDF, XLS, XLSX, TXT, PPT, and PPTX.
Here are some of Sayabit’s main features:

  • Upload & store your images, documents, PDFs, Excel files & Powerpoint presentations

  • Transfer large files seamlessly via email, Twitter & instant messenger

  • Password protect your important documents & images

  • Shorten and redirect long URLs

  • Know when and where your files are being viewed

  • Personalized URLs to easily share all your files at once

  • Access the historical performance of your links & files

  • Monitor Twitter conversations about your links & files

  • Unlimited memory capacity to store as much as you want
By removing the file size restrictions and introducing various other useful features, Sayabit has taken documents’ hosting to a whole another level.

Duplicate Blog Posts? If So? Remove The Duplicate!

As a savvy consumer, you likely love to hear about offers for 2 for the price of 1, of something that you buy frequently. That's a great deal, normally. But, It's not for blog posts, though.

When you start to see double in your blog, chances are that you duplicated the Blog Posts entry in the template. It's not hard to fix, fortunately.

Edit the HTML of the blog. Do not check "Expand Widget Templates". Look for below two lines, in the Body of the template:

<b:widget id='Blog1' locked='true' title='Blog Posts' type='Blog'/>
<b:widget id='Blog2' locked='true' title='Blog Posts' type='Blog'/>

Remove:
<b:widget id='Blog2' locked='true' title='Blog Posts' type='Blog'/>

Don't remove below:
<b:widget id='Blog1' locked='true' title='Blog Posts' type='Blog'/>

Save the change. And clear cache to test your change.

Remember to save a copy of the template, before and after doing this.

Buzz Can Tweet : Sends "Tweets" from "Google Buzz"

Google Buzz may be the "Flop-Show" from the Google Inc., it wouldn’t die out the way their earlier service Google Wave did. People are Buzzing and engaging in conversations. Considered as a twitter killer, this service when used with twitter can fetch you good results. Your tweets can easily be added as your Buzz by adding twitter to your “connected sites”. But how to do the reverse?

"Buzz Can Tweet" is a service that allows you to send your Buzz to twitter. Your buzz will automatically be sent to Twitter and will include a link back to your buzz, which means that all your Twitter followers can enjoy all photos, videos etc without having to follow you on Buzz. Messages can be longer than 140 characters as your followers can just hit the link to read the rest.

All your Buzz content will be shared, whether you send it from Gmail, Google Maps or any other Buzz client. We will not however include buzz imported from Twitter.

Another interesting feature is that, you can control your Buzz. Only messages with the hashtag #twitter ( customizable) will be send out to your twitter account.

Some Issues:
A side effect is that all the tweeted buzz will find its way back to Buzz if you have enabled Twitter in Buzz. You can either remove Twitter polling from Buzz or manually delete the retweeted buzz until Google gives a workable solution.

Tweets sometimes lag behind. This is something that's wrong on the Buzz end and will hopefully be fixed soon.

Features:

  • Send buzz to Twitter.

  • Use your own Bit.ly account for links.

  • Selective tweeting, only tweet buzz with keyword #twitter (customizable).

  • Exclude text after keyword (customizable).

  • No link back to Buzz when under 140 characters (customizable).

  • Access settings via the control panel.

ClickMeter : A Website To Find the Number of Clicks on Your Links In Real Time.

Website traffic is the only thing site owners are concerned about; if not the only thing, it is at least what they are most concerned about. The whole aim of creating a website is to attract a large internet audience which translates into a heavy traffic. The higher traffic a website receives, the more other companies want to advertise on it. And as most you already know, online advertisements are a site owner’s primary income.

Therefore carefully monitoring the traffic of our site and its activity is essential to a site owner. If you are a site owner, there is a good chance you use a tool like Google Analytics to keep an eye on your site’s traffic. Amongst other things, observing the traffic trends can tell you how the site visitors are reacting to any changes you make on your site.

While Google Analytics is a great tool for basic traffic management, some site owners might want a more extensive and thorough observation of their site’s activity. For that purpose ClickMeter was created which allows users to click-track their website in real time.

ClickMeter is an absolutely free to use website that provides users with a number of click-tracking features. TO start off we must register for a free account. The next steps are easy. Simply add the URL you want tracked, note down its tracking URL which ClickMeter generates, and paste this link around the internet.

As users will click on the link you publish, ClickMeter will record visitor clicks to, from and within the website you added. Tracking features include real-time statistics, unlimited tracking-links, IP address, click-fraud detection, detailed IP analytics, campaigns comparison charts, and finding out which part of the globe users are clicking your link on.

NMIndexStoreSvr.exe : File Information that you are unaware of !!

What is NMIndexStoreSvr.exe?
The nmindexstoresvr.exe process is a part of the Nero Scout Utility. Nero Scout is a small utility that is included in all versions of Nero Ultra Edition from version 7 onwards. Nmindexstoresvr.exe is a service that scans your PC for all media files and arranges them in a catalog for easy referencing.

File Information:
File NMIndexStoreSvr.exe is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files\Common Files". The most common size of the file is 884,736 bytes, but you may also find it in the following sizes: 1,208,320, 1,209,904, 905,216, 1,688,872, 1,828,136, 1,213,736, 880,640, 1,840,424, 1,410,344, and 1,422,632 bytes. NMIndexStoreSvr.exe is not a Windows core file. The program is not visible. The application can be removed using the control panel Add\Remove programs applet.

Problems associated with nmindexstoresvr.exe
Nmindexstoresvr.exe is a useful process as it arranges all media files in a sequential manner, giving Nero quick access to them when required. However, nmindexstoresvr.exe does have one drawback – unlike other similar indexing services, this process continues to run in the background even while you are performing other tasks on your computer. This is the reason why nmindexstoresvr.exe can hog your system’s resources. At times, the process is known to use up to 50% of CPU resources.

If you believe this service is being a deterrent to your system’s performance, then we recommend you remove this process from your computer.

How to disable nmindexstoresvr.exe?
You can disable the nmindexstoresvr.exe process by removing the Nero Scout utility from your PC. Follow the steps listed below to disable Nero Scout utility through its own interface.

  • On your desktop, double-click on the My Computer icon.
  • Right-click Nero Scout and select Options.
  • Clear the Enable Nero Scout check box.
  • Restart your PC.

If you are still facing problems, then we recommend you follow the steps given below to completely uninstall the Nero Scout utility.

  • Click the Start button and then select Run.
  • Type the following line in the Open box.
    regsvr32 /u "%COMMONPROGRAMFILES%AheadLibMediaLibraryNSE.dll"
  •  Select OK and then reboot your PC.
Note: If NMIndexStoreSvr.exe is a genuine process then it can be removed from the Add remove programs easily.

Security Task Manager : Free and Safer Task Manager.

Security Task Manager shows all active processes on your computer. You can easily recognize the endangering potential of each process. No other Task Manager or Process Viewer has this feature. Furthermore you can put a process into quarantine or search the internet for information about that process.

"Security Task Manager tells you exactly what programs are running on your computer - and it gives you answers to the obvious ensuing questions, such as where these programs reside, who makes them, what they are called, whether they include hidden components, and what all this means to your computer." - PCWorld Editor Laura Blackwell

Security Task Manager shows comprehensible information about programs and processes running on the computer. For each Windows process, it improves on Windows Task Manager, providing:
  • unique security risk rating.
  • free online scan with all known Antivirus engines.
  • full directory path and file name.
  • process description.
  • CPU usage graph.
  • embedded hidden functions. (e.g. keyboard monitoring, browser supervision or manipulation)
  • process type. (e.g. visible window, systray program, DLL, IE-plugin, startup service)

The Security Task Manager detects unknown malware and rootkits hidden from your antivirus software.

Note: To run the software without installation simply download the ZIP file, unzip it and start program. On Windows Vista, program's help file needs Microsoft WinHlp32

BootIt : A Tool To Merge Partitions On USB Pen Drive

Few days back, I made my 4 GB USB pen drive bootable (For some purpose). All worked well and the bootable pen drive worked well.

Some days ago when I wanted to transfer some data I formatted the 4GB pen drive in Windows and I was surprised to see that It showed only 941 MB of drive space. I formatted it again and it was still only 941 MB drive.

I opened Disk Management in windows to analyze the disk and came to know that the tool which i used to make my USB pen drive bootable, had partitioned my Pen drive into two parts. One of them was 941 MB of FAT partition which was usable and the remaining 2.7GB was showing as unallocated space.

As I no longer needed that USB drive as bootable, and wanted to recover the 2.7 GB space allocated due to partition, I tried to do a low level formatting of the USB pen drive using some freeware tools. It did not help to recover that Linux partition.

Also the problem with Windows is that It won’t let you create or Merge partitions on a USB pen drive using the Disk Management tool.

I came across this tool called BootIt by Lexar. What is does is that it allows you to set the removable Bit of the drive which will trick Windows into believing that the drive is not a removable drive.

Note: Before following the below method Make sure to backup all your data on pen drive. This process will result in erasing all the data on pen drive.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, just run the tool with right click and choosing Run As Administrator option.

Now simply select the drive on the tool and click the Flip Removable Bit button. After you press it, the tool will ask you to remove and re-insert the drive. After you re-insert the drive into the USB port, it will be non-formatted all RAW space.

Windows will prompt you to format the drive, just go ahead and format the USB drive and it will reclaim the unallocated space.

The image above is what you see after clicking on the settings. To change the shortcuts, enter the Config tab.

One can find almost all popular website in the list to the left. All you have to do is select your site from the list and drag it to the four vacant places to the right. To keep things simple and free from clutter, the number of options is limited to four.

How To Show Label Specific Icons Below Post Titles ??

In this Blogger tutorial, you will learn to display icons or any text/image specific for any label/category under the post titles in your blog.

STEP #1:
Log in to Blogger, go to Layout -> Edit HTML and tick the tick-box "Expand Widget Templates"

STEP #2
Find (CTRL+F) this code in the template: <div class='post-header-line-1'/>

and immediately BELOW/AFTER it, paste this code:

If you want to display the icons for four labels, then use this code:

Replace the code in "YOUR_LABEL_#1" etc with the exact names of your labels/categories (including space " " between two words). And replace the text in "TEXT OR LINK TO IMAGE COMES HERE" with the link to the icon you want to use.

For Example: To use the books icon, replace that text "TEXT OR LINK TO IMAGE COMES HERE" with this code: <img src="http://i49.tinypic.com/2elukh4.jpg" alt="Book Reviews"/>

Finally save the template.

How To Send Emails To A Fax Machine Using Some Free Online Sites ?

Don't have a fax machine handy? No problem. You can use the Web to send a free fax - and no, you don't have to have a fax machine or even find some spare change. Here are some sites that give you the ability to send a free fax online.

Gotfreefax is a simple and easy to use service that just needs sender and receiver’s information to complete the sending of the mail to a fax machine. Just enter the information and upload the file as a doc or pdf attachment and get ready to take the print of the fax. The only thing is that the fax cover page will contain few ads, this is required to pay for the service.

You can receive and send faxes at any time, our service is valid 24/7. You can send your faxes from any country in the world you just need to access your Popfax.com account via an Internet connection. Popfax.com service does not require any Software installation. It works, following subscription, with all operating systems. PopFax is a fax service that offers a free fax online trial, but then goes to a paid subscription service. Popfax works very similarly to the other fax services detailed in this article with a few differences: it does offer worldwide fax service, and they keep your documents in storage for 30 days. The subscription fee is low enough that it's worth a look if you send more than 5 faxes a month.

FaxZero gives you two free faxes a day, and if you are a very infrequent faxer than that's all you need. Simply save the document you're faxing onto your computer somewhere, provide the fax number and company information, and send the file; kind of like sending an email. You will receive a fax confirmation in your email inbox within 20 minutes if the fax was sent successfully. The service is only limited to the users in US and Canada.
MyFax will send one free fax for you to 41 different countries, and you'll get a confirmation email in your inbox once it's done. Plans start out at $10/month for 100 faxes; that's a lot of faxes!

PamFax supports Windows and Mac OS X as fax software. Skype users will love PamFax: it's a fully Skype-integrated service that allows you to send faxes for cheap (first-time users get a few freebies).PamFax supports more than 100 file formats.

Google Buzz : A Social Integration And Messaging Tool By Google

With more and more communication happening online, the social web has exploded as the primary way to share interesting stuff, tell the world what you're up to in real-time and stay more connected to more people. In today's world of status messages, tweets and update streams, it's increasingly tough to sort through it all, much less engage in meaningful conversations.

Google Buzz is a social integration and messaging tool by Google, designed to integrate into the company's web-based email program, Gmail. Shared links and messages show up in the user's inbox. Buzz focuses on integrating photos, videos, and links as part of the "conversations" aspects of Gmail like conversation threading.

Google Buzz is a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting. It's built right into Gmail, so you don't have to peck out an entirely new set of friends from scratch — it just works. If you think about it, there's always been a big social network underlying Gmail. Buzz brings this network to the surface by automatically setting you up to follow the people you email and chat with the most. It focuses on building an easy-to-use sharing experience that richly integrates photos, videos and links, and makes it easy to share publicly or privately (so you don't have to use different tools to share with different audiences). Plus, Buzz integrates tightly with your existing Gmail inbox, so you're sure to see the stuff that matters most as it happens in real time.

Users will be able to share links and status updates through Buzz. They will also be able to see what their friends are posting to sites such as YouTube, Flickr and Twitter and will be allowed to view most of that content within the same Gmail window. All posts will be updated in real time.

Buzz enables people to directly message someone using the same "@" format as made popular by Twitter. Buzz will also send users posts and links to other content they might be interested in based on what their friends are talking about or the content of their own Buzz feed (users will be able to turn this function off).

Whenever someone comments on one of your posts, Gmail will send you an email with all the comments and images associated with the Buzz you've created.

Google has made mobile a priority for Buzz and has created three ways that users will be able to access the service from a mobile device: through the company's standard Google.com mobile homepage, from a special Buzz application (available for iPhone and Android users only right now) and through Google's Mobile Maps application (only for Nokia Symbian, Windows Mobile and Android users currently).

Warren Buffet : The second richest man in the United States.

Warren Edward Buffett (born August 30, 1930) is an American investor, businessman, and philanthropist. He is one of the most successful investors in history, the primary shareholder and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.

Buffett is called the "Oracle of Omaha" or the "Sage of Omaha" and is noted for his adherence to the value investing philosophy and for his personal frugality despite his immense wealth. Buffett is also a notable philanthropist, having pledged to give away 85 percent of his fortune to the Gates Foundation. He also serves as a member of the board of trustees at Grinnell College.

At only six years old, Buffett purchased 6-packs of Coca Cola from his grandfather's grocery store for twenty five cents and resold each of the bottles for a nickel, pocketing a five cent profit. While other children his age were playing hopscotch and jacks, Warren was making money. Five years later, Buffett took his step into the world of high finance. At eleven years old, he purchased three shares of Cities Service Preferred at $38 per share for both himself and his older sister, Doris. Shortly after buying the stock, it fell to just over $27 per share. A frightened but resilient Warren held his shares until they rebounded to $40. He promptly sold them - a mistake he would soon come to regret. Cities Service shot up to $200. The experience taught him one of the basic lessons of investing: patience is a virtue.

Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:

1. He bought his first share at Age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late !!

2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.

3. He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.

4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.
