Bachelor of Arts in Computer Application (BCA) Curriculum and it's Structure of TU

Introduction:
Tribhuvan University (TU), office of the Vice Chancellor, Directorate of Planning is going to provide affiliation for 4 years Bachelor of Arts in Computer Application (BCA) program to some of the colleges/campuses under Tribhuvan University (constituent or affiliated). The colleges/Campuses that is running any programs under TU can apply to run BCA program this year.  

So according to news buzzing around (As inspection going in/out of valley), Tribhuvan University is planning to launch Bachelor of Arts in Computer Application (BCA) program from the academic year 2074/75. 

The BCA program will be run under Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences. Currently Purbanchal University and Pokhara University are running BCA program in Nepal.

Update:
Till date (2074/04/09) three Constituent Campuses have been provided letters to start the program from this session:

(1) Mechi Multiple Campus, Bhadrapur, Jhapa
(2) Patan Samyukta Campus, Patan Dhoka
(3) Padmakanya Multiple Campus, Bagbazar


Who can Join the Course?
Those who have completed their +2 level in Science, Management, Humanities, Education can all join this course. Interesting! All can join :)

Course Duration: Four Years/Eight Semesters
Course Credit Hours: 126 


BCA Course contents:
1. Computer Application (Core Courses) : 71 credit
2. Elective Courses : 12 credit
3. Math & Statistics Courses : 9 credit
4. Language Courses : 6 credit
5. Social Science & Management Courses : 15 credit
6. Projects and Internships : 13 credit

Total credit hours = 126

Entry Requirements for BCA:
Intermediate Level or Higher Secondary Level (10+2) or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized institution with at least second division (45%) marks. Besides the basic academic requirement, an entrance examination will be conducted for all applicants by the Dean's office.

The subjects and weightage of each subject for the Entrance test will be as follows:
English : 40%
Mathematics : 50%
General Knowledge : 10%
