OfficeIns - Disable MS Office Add-Ons

Microsoft Office is a very useful software tool used by many of Windows users. In fact a lot of Mac OS users also use Microsoft Office. There are many Add-On, provided by Microsoft and Sometimes 3rd party Add-Ons which can be integrated with MS office to make it even more useful.

Sometimes, due to a bug or compatibility problem of some particular third party MS Office Add-On, your MS office Applications like MS Excel, MS Word etc may start to hang, freeze, or sometimes even crash the applications. It sometimes becomes very difficult to troubleshoot and fix such problems.

Let me review a very useful tool called OfficeIns that helps you see all MS office Add ons on one screen and lets to enable/disable them so that you can troubleshoot the problem.

OfficeIns is a small but useful and effective tool by NirSoft for Managing all installed MS Office Add Ons from one window. This is very small in size (about 50 KB) and portable tool. You can carry it on a USB pen drive and plug it in any Computer which is having problems in MS office because of add-ons.

Start by disabling the add-ons which you most recently installed. In most of the cases, the most recent installs are the reason for in-stability of the software. When you disable suspicious add-ons, launch the MS office Application and observe whether you still have problem, this way you can pin-point the culprit add-ons and get rid of them.
