What if you are able to logon to the your computer which is in the Windows domain but you are not getting your desktop and other profile features. The error message is that Windows is not able to locate your profile and is creating a temporary profile to logon.
You are able to restore the profile manually. But if this happens to anybody else, I would not recommend the manual method because it’s very time consuming and it’s not sure that the profile will be restored.
ReProfiler is a software which comes in handy in this situation. Reprofiler offers a quick and easy way to see which profile is associated with which user. If a problem is evident, it then provides a very simple way to connect the profile with an appropriate user.
Note: There have been some reports of this utility failing to open, or giving strange error-messages at startup. It would seem that the problem area is with the WMI interface libraries, which provide the information on user-accounts, etc which this app requires. Therefore if you cannot get the utility to run, check that the WMI service has not been disabled. A setting of manual startup appears to be satisfactory. If the WMI service is clearly running but you still cannot get the main Reprofiler window to appear, the problem might be with security software which interferes with WMI connectivity.
